Tannum Sands Beach, located 30 km southeast of Gladstone, offers a picturesque coastal experience with its 800-meter northern stretch and 600-meter southern section leading to Wild Cattle Creek. The beach is partially shielded from southerly waves by Rodds Peninsula, resulting in gentle waves averaging 0.5 meters. Tides can reach up to 6 meters, creating a 50-meter wide high tide beach and a 150-meter wide low tide bar. The Tannum Sands Surf Life Saving Club, situated 200 meters north of the creek mouth, provides patrolling services from September through the May long weekend, ensuring a safe environment for beachgoers.
