Stone Hut is a tranquil town in South Australia's Mid North, nestled along the Horrocks Highway between Laura and Wirrabara. Established in 1874, it was named after a four-room stone hut built in the 1850s, which served as a shelter for shepherds and later as a mail coach station. Today, Stone Hut offers a peaceful rural setting with a population of approximately 30 residents. The area is known for its scenic beauty, with attractions like the Wirrabara Golf Course and the Old Bakery, which relocated from Wirrabara around 2005.
