Shire of Jerramungup

The Shire of Jerramungup, located in Western Australia's Great Southern region, encompasses the towns of Jerramungup and Bremer Bay, along with the localities of Boxwood Hill, Needilup, Fitzgerald River, Gairdner, and Jacup. Established on July 1, 1982, the Shire covers an area of 6,507 square kilometers and serves a population of approximately 1,200 residents. Its seat of government is the town of Jerramungup. The Shire is renowned for its proximity to the Fitzgerald River National Park, one of the largest national parks in Australia, which is home to over 1,800 plant species, including 75 endemic to the area. The park's diverse flora and fauna make it a significant botanical region. The Shire's vision is to create a progressive, prosperous, and premium place to live and visit.
