
The Waratah Unit of the State Emergency Service (SES) is dedicated to safeguarding the Waratah community and its surroundings. Operating from 17 Smith Street, Waratah, Tasmania 7321, the unit offers training sessions every Tuesday evening at 7pm. Their primary responsibilities encompass general rescue operations, road crash rescue, storm damage response, and land search and rescue. Volunteers are also trained in basic roping techniques to enhance their operational capabilities. Serving a vast area from Hellyer Gorge to Corinna, and extending up to the Western Explorer Road, the Waratah Unit plays a vital role in ensuring community safety and resilience.
