Operating from their base at 27 Lees Road, Mallacoota, VIC 3892, they provide 24/7 assistance in emergencies such as floods, storms, search and rescue operations, and road accidents. Under the leadership of Controller Leo op den Brouw, who was honored as Victoria's Local Hero in 2022 for his exceptional service during the 2019–2020 bushfires, the unit exemplifies resilience and community spirit. Their proactive approach includes annual joint agency Rescue Boat Workshops with Coast Guard, Life Saving Victoria, and Ambulance Victoria, enhancing collaborative emergency response capabilities. The Mallacoota Unit's unwavering dedication ensures the community remains prepared and protected against various emergencies.
