The Port of Mackay Security Office, located at 35-39 Outer Harbour Road, Mackay Harbour, Queensland, 4740, operates 24/7 to ensure the safety and security of port facilities. As part of the North Queensland Bulk Ports Corporation (NQBP), the office enforces strict access controls, including security fencing and gate access, to maintain a secure environment. Unauthorized public access beyond these gates is prohibited. Individuals requiring access must complete a safety induction and obtain a Port Access Card, available for collection at the Security Office during business hours. The office also manages the issuance of Maritime Security Identification Cards (MSIC) for higher security levels. In response to heightened national security threats, NQBP has invested over $1 million to upgrade port security, including the installation of more than 50 CCTV cameras across its ports.
