As night descends, the Port Arthur Historic Site transforms into a realm of mystery and intrigue. Embark on a 90-minute, lantern-lit Ghost Tour, traversing over 2 kilometers of the site's most notorious buildings and ruins. Guided by experts, you'll hear vivid tales of unexplained events that have baffled convicts, free settlers, soldiers, and visitors alike. With over 1,000 deaths during its 47-year history as a penal settlement, some believe the souls of the departed linger. Tours operate Wednesday to Sunday, with departure times varying seasonally. Due to limited access through dark recesses of heritage buildings, the tour is not suitable for those with restricted mobility. Prepare for all weather conditions, as umbrellas are not permitted. Please arrive 15–30 minutes before your scheduled tour to check in.
