Penola CFS, located at 15 Portland Street, Penola SA 5277, serves as the MacKillop Group headquarters within Region 5 of the South Australian Country Fire Service. Established in 2024, it coordinates operations for 11 brigades, including Comaum, Coonawarra, Kalangadoo, Maaoupe, Monbulla, Mount Graham, Mount McIntyre, Nangwarry, Penola, Short, and Wepar. The station is equipped with a MacKillop BW12 Large Volume Water Tanker and a Command Vehicle, supporting a range of emergency response types such as fires, road crash rescues, and natural disasters. Training sessions are held every Wednesday at 7:00 pm, welcoming new recruits and cadets.
