Papulankutja

Papulankutja, also known as Blackstone, is a remote Aboriginal community nestled at the foot of the Blackstone Ranges in Western Australia. This picturesque locale offers a serene environment with abundant groundwater and numerous trees, creating an oasis-like setting. The community thrives on traditional practices, with residents engaging in arts and crafts such as woodwork, grass baskets, jewelry made from nuts and seeds, and acrylic painting on canvas. Cultural preservation is paramount, with the Ngaanyatjarra language spoken and a strict no-alcohol, no-drugs policy enforced. The community is accessible via a 200 km gravel road to Warburton or an 800 km journey to Alice Springs.
