Newnes Lookout

Newnes Plateau Cliffs, nestled within Gardens of Stone National Park, offer a haven for adventure enthusiasts. The area boasts breathtaking views of the meandering Wolgan River, the towering mesas of Pantoneys Crown and Donkey Mountain, and the distinctive rock formations that define the park. Visitors can engage in activities such as bushwalking, canyoning, rock-climbing, and mountain-biking, immersing themselves in diverse habitats that include alpine grasses, dwarf heath, and majestic eucalypts. Wildlife sightings are common, with kangaroos, wallabies, and gliders frequently observed. The plateau is accessible via unsealed roads suitable for 2WD vehicles, though 4WD is recommended during wet conditions. Parking is available along Glow Worm Tunnel Road, with caution advised due to the unfenced cliff edges. The area is open year-round, though sections may close due to adverse weather or fire danger.
