
The Narran Lake Nature Reserve, located approximately 50 kilometers east of Brewarrina in north-west New South Wales, Australia, encompasses a series of protected ephemeral lakes and swamps fed by the Narran River. Established in 1988, the reserve spans 26,480 hectares and is renowned for its unique ecological communities. In 1999, a section of the reserve was designated as a Ramsar site, covering 8,447 hectares, in recognition of its international importance for waterbirds and wetland ecosystems. The reserve is jointly managed by the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service and the Narran Lake Nature Reserve Joint Management Committee.
