Embark on a challenging 55 km, four-day hike along the pristine southern New South Wales coastline, from Merrica River to Mallacoota. This Grade 5 trail offers remote beaches, rugged cliffs, tranquil lagoons, and shifting sand dunes. Along the way, encounter diverse wildlife, including short-tailed shearwaters, gannets, and migrating whales between August and November. Campsites like Little Creek Estuary, Bunyip Hole, and Nadgee River provide rest stops. Overnight stays require permits; contact the Merimbula NPWS office for details. Note: The track is unmarked in places and may be impassable during heavy rain.
