Established in 1922, Murrumbateman Rural Fire Brigade has been a cornerstone of the Murrumbateman community for over a century. Celebrating its centenary in 2022, the brigade honored members with National Emergency Medals, National Medals, and Long Service Medals for their dedication during the 2019-2020 bushfires. The brigade's history is marked by innovation, being the first in the area to equip trucks with leaf blowers for dry firefighting and to establish a fire station, the Lloyd Connor Memorial Shed. Today, it continues to serve the community with a team of 66 members, playing a vital role in local fire safety and emergency response.
