Located approximately 60 kilometers south of Darwin, the Mount Bundey Training Area spans around 10,000 hectares and is primarily utilized by the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and allied forces for live-fire training exercises. The area features an Urban Operations Training Facility, constructed in 2005, which supports urban warfare training scenarios. In 2021, the Australian government announced a $747 million investment to upgrade key training areas, including Mount Bundey, enhancing its capabilities for both Australian and international military exercises.
