The Mon Repos Coastal Track is a 4.5 km return journey that begins and ends at the Mon Repos Turtle Centre. This Grade 2 walking track offers a gentle stroll through diverse coastal environments, including saltpans, tidal lagoons, freshwater ponds, mangroves, and remnants of Woongarra rainforest. Along the way, visitors can explore rock pools teeming with marine life during low tide. A highlight of the track is the 1.5-meter-high South Sea Islander rock wall, built in the 1880s by South Sea Islanders as they cleared rocks from nearby cane fields. The track is accessible by conventional vehicles and bicycles, with facilities such as toilets and a water refill station available at the Turtle Centre between 9 am and 2 pm. It's advisable to check tide times before setting out, as certain sections may be challenging to access during very high tides.
