Established on October 29, 1997, it encompasses about 28 square kilometers along the south coast of Shoal Bay. The area is renowned for the Micket Creek Shooting Complex, which has been serving the needs of local shooting organizations since its opening in 1997. Despite its proximity to Darwin, Micket Creek remains uninhabited, offering a serene environment with picturesque coastal views.
