
Loy Yang B Power Station, located in Victoria's Latrobe Valley, is a brown coal-fired facility approximately 160 km east of Melbourne. Since 1993, it has been a reliable and cost-effective generator, supplying up to 1,200 MW of baseload power, meeting about 20% of Victoria's energy needs. The station operates with high reliability, achieving an average availability of 96.8% over the past decade. In 2017, ownership transitioned to Chow Tai Fook Enterprises, enhancing its capacity to support the integration of renewable energy sources.
