Established in 1913, the Longreach Scout Group is a vibrant community dedicated to fostering personal growth and leadership among youth in Longreach, Queensland. Under the guidance of Group Leader John Palmer, who has over 50 years of service, the group offers programs for Cub Scouts, Scouts, and Venturer Scouts. Meetings are held at 43 Ilfracombe Road, with Cub Scouts gathering on Thursdays from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, Scouts on Wednesdays from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, and Venturer Scouts on Tuesdays from 7:30 pm to 9:30 pm. The group is actively involved in community initiatives, including the Avenue of Honour project, which commemorates the service and sacrifice of local veterans.
