Constructed in 1969, it boasts a full storage capacity of 112,400 megalitres and covers 848 hectares. The dam is renowned for its recreational offerings, including camping, fishing, and various water-based activities. Facilities on-site feature toilets, wood-fired barbecues, and picnic tables. The dam is stocked with barramundi and sooty grunter, making it a popular spot for anglers. A Stocked Impoundment Permit (SIP) is required for fishing. Boating activities are permitted, with operators advised to adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a distance of at least 200 meters from the dam wall. Camping is allowed, with a maximum stay of four weeks, and open campfires are permitted in designated areas. Visitors are encouraged to observe all signs and guidelines to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
