Covering 1.24 square kilometers, it is home to 124 residents as of the 2021 census. The bay features a 400-meter-long, 300-meter-deep beach rated in the lowest Surf Life Saving Australia Beachsafe hazard category (level 1). Amenities include parking, public toilets, picnic tables, and a boat ramp. The area's unique name is believed to derive from the yellow and red eggs-and-bacon flowers native to the region.
