Deep Creek Fossicking Area, located at the southern entrance to Gympie, Queensland, offers visitors a chance to experience the region's rich gold mining history. Established in 1986, this designated fossicking area allows enthusiasts to search for gold along the creek's banks and bends. Access is available via Counter Street and Victoria Street, with boundaries marked by yellow metal posts. Fossicking licenses are required and can be obtained online or at the Lake Alford Visitor Information Centre. Please note, camping and pets are not permitted to protect the surrounding environment.
