Borumba Dam, situated near Imbil in Queensland's Mary Valley, serves as a vital water source for both drinking and irrigation. Completed in 1963 and upgraded in 1997, the dam impounds Lake Borumba, which spans 480 hectares and holds 45,952 megalitres at full capacity. The surrounding area offers a Day Use Area equipped with picnic tables, shelters, barbecues, and toilets, making it ideal for outdoor activities. Visitors can enjoy fishing, boating, kayaking, and water sports like water skiing and wakeboarding. Please note, potable water is not available on-site; bringing sufficient drinking water is recommended.
