Borallon Training and Correctional Centre, located at 75 Ivan Lane, Ironbark, Queensland, is a high-security facility dedicated to rehabilitating young male offenders. Since its reopening in April 2016, it has focused on education, training, and employment to break the cycle of reoffending. The centre offers a range of vocational programs, including horticulture, engineering, welding, kitchen operations, automotive, and language, literacy, and numeracy courses. Partnerships with TAFE Queensland and the University of Southern Queensland provide prisoners with opportunities to earn nationally recognized qualifications and engage in tertiary studies. Additionally, the centre collaborates with Australian Framing Solutions to offer real-life work experience, producing structural steel house frames and wall panels. These initiatives aim to equip prisoners with the skills and experience necessary for successful reintegration into society upon release.
