Upstairs Art

Upstairs Art, located at 34 Haydon Street in Murrurundi, NSW, offers a unique artistic experience through its specialized teaching of the chiaroscuro method. This technique, rooted in the works of old masters like Leonardo da Vinci and Raphael, focuses on the interplay of light and shadow to create depth and realism. Under the guidance of Rodney Swansborough, students engage in weekly art classes, both morning and evening, where they can explore various mediums and develop their skills. The studio also hosts an annual exhibition each December, showcasing over 100 student artworks. Additionally, Upstairs Art conducts workshops throughout the region, including at the Tamworth Regional Art Gallery and local libraries, and offers children's workshops and weekly art lessons.
