Pichi Richi Railway offers a captivating journey through South Australia's Flinders Ranges, operating restored steam and diesel trains on the historic Ghan route between Port Augusta and Quorn. Since 1973, dedicated volunteers have meticulously preserved this 39-kilometre narrow-gauge line, which opened in 1879. Passengers can experience the scenic beauty of gum-lined creeks, bluebush-studded hills, and ancient rocky outcrops, all while traveling in heritage carriages over 130 years old. Operating from March to November, the railway provides both full-day and half-day excursions, allowing visitors to step back in time and enjoy the relaxed pace of yesteryear.
