
Ngukurr Art Centre, nestled along the Roper River in Ngukurr, South East Arnhem Land, unites artists from diverse clans, including Ngalakgan, Alawa, Mangarrayi, Ngandi, Marra, Warndarrang, Nunggubuyu, Ritharrngu-Wägilak, and Rembarrnga, collectively known as Yugul Mangi. The centre showcases a vibrant array of artworks, from luminous floral landscapes by Gwenneth Blitner to vivid depictions of Devil Devil by Wally Wilfred, blending traditional techniques with contemporary styles. Artists also explore mediums like textiles, animation, and video, reflecting a rich cultural heritage. Visitors are welcome to view and purchase artworks directly from the artists, with 60% of sales supporting the creators. The centre operates Monday to Friday, 10 am to 4 pm, and offers workshops and training sessions to foster artistic development.
