Little Blue Lake, located just off the B82 between Derby and Gladstone, is a striking natural phenomenon in Tasmania's Far North East. Formed from a former mining pit, the lake's vivid aqua blue hue results from minerals at its base. Surrounded by clay banks and gum trees, it offers a picturesque setting for photography. While popular for waterskiing, swimming is not recommended due to the high mineral content. The area is also a haven for gem hunters, with smokey quartz, amethyst, and topaz found abundantly.
