Kooroorinya Falls Nature Reserve, located 54 kilometers south of Prairie on the Prairie-Muttaburra Road, is a secluded haven for nature enthusiasts. The reserve features a natural waterhole surrounded by high rock walls and sandy, shaded banks, offering opportunities for swimming, fishing, birdwatching, and leisurely walks. During the wet season, the falls are spectacular, cascading into a rocky gorge. The area is abundant with wildlife, providing excellent photography opportunities. Camping facilities include modern toilets, hot showers, and fire pits. The annual Kooroorinya Races, held over three days in early May, are a highlight, featuring live bands, food, and family activities. Visitors are advised to check road conditions before traveling during wet weather and to carry plenty of water.
