Kennedy Range, WA

Kennedy Range National Park, known as 'Mundatharrda' to the local Yinggarda people, is a vast sandstone plateau in Western Australia, stretching 75 kilometers in length and varying between 12 to 25 kilometers in width. The park features dramatic cliffs, deep gorges, and expansive red earth plains, offering a unique landscape for photography enthusiasts. Visitors can explore various walking trails, including the Temple Gorge, Honeycomb Gorge, Drapers Gorge, and the Escarpment Trail, each providing distinct perspectives of the park's natural beauty. The park is also home to diverse flora and fauna, with over 80 species of wildflowers blooming after good rains, adding vibrant colors to the rugged terrain. Camping is available at the Temple Gorge Campground, where visitors can enjoy stargazing under the clear outback skies. Access to the park is via unsealed roads, suitable for two-wheel-drive vehicles under normal conditions, but four-wheel-drive vehicles are recommended, especially after rainfall. Entry to the park is free, and it is jointly managed by the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions and the Yinggarda Aboriginal Corporation.
