In 1865, Hunt's team constructed this well as part of a series of water sources along the Old Goldfields Road, vital for stockmen and gold prospectors traveling to Kalgoorlie and Coolgardie. The well and nearby Tammin Tank have been restored by the local community, preserving their original appearance.
