Henrietta Manning is a contemporary realist painter based in the Huon Valley, Tasmania. Since 1985, she has exhibited widely, with her work predominantly created from life across various genres. Her paintings are characterized by painterly close-up marks that, when viewed from a distance, coalesce into distinct subjects. Manning has been a finalist in prestigious Australian art prizes, including the Glover, Wynne, Alice, Waterhouse, Portia Geach, Alice Bale, and Mosman Prizes, as well as the Summer Exhibition in England. In 2005, she received an Australia Council New Work Established Grant. Her residencies include two with the Hill End Residency Program at Bathurst Regional Art Gallery, NSW. Visitors to her studio, Studio Waterloo, can meet the artist, view current and past works, and gain personal insight into her art practice. The studio is located in a historic apple packing shed in the picturesque setting of Waterloo in the Huon Valley. Appointments are available for individuals and small groups to explore the studio and discuss potential purchases. Additionally, limited edition art prints, postcards, and booklets are available for purchase. Special events, such as the Huon Valley Studio Art Trail, are occasionally held, offering the public a chance to experience the artist's work in person.
