Cooinbil Hut campground

Cooinbil Hut campground, nestled in the High Plains area of Kosciuszko National Park, offers a unique glimpse into early 20th-century pastoral life. Overlooking the expansive Long Plain and the headwaters of the Murrumbidgee River, this campground serves as an ideal base for exploring the park's northern attractions. Visitors can engage in activities such as walking, fishing in nearby streams, picnicking, and exploring local heritage sites. For adventure enthusiasts, mountain biking through grassy woodlands provides an exhilarating experience. Horse riders are welcome, with facilities accommodating large vehicles and loading ramps. Birdwatchers can spot species such as gang-gang cockatoos and crimson rosellas year-round. Please note, access roads to the campground are closed in winter (June to October long weekends).
