Skylark is a Melbourne jazz trio that’s grown out of three years playing together week in, week out at a residency in Windsor. The band came together through a shared love of standards, swinging hard when it calls for it and leaving space when it doesn’t. The band has developed a sound that sits somewhere between traditional trio playing and something a bit more loose and conversational. Sets move between classic repertoire, lesser-known tunes, and spontaneous moments that only really happen on the bandstand. Comfortable as background music or as a feature performance, Skylark focuses on good time, good listening, and music that feels natural in the room.
