4 days to go to Kinselas and ART BATTLE Sydney, STREET LEVEL Take Over - July 25, 2025 .... and to continue the DJ introductions, I would like to introduce yours truly, DJ Swanrock, who was the original The Funk Soul Brother on 2RRR, and who is the creator and organiser of Street Level (https://www.instagram.com/streetlevel_au?igsh=MWpqY3dqc2wwcXUy), as well as one of the resident DJ's ... “Purveyor of soulful beats, rhythms and grooves. From vintage funk, soul, hip hop, and boom bap, to new fresh electronic dance beats, old skool beats, and of course all things funky” DJ Swanrock describes himself as a DJ who creates a journey into infectious dance grooves with a feel good vibe. Working on producing his own style of electronic music, he has added his own love for hip hop and includes samples from his own vinyl collection incorporating this into his mix. Today, this translates into sets where he infuses beats on top of brooding basslines, and occasional vocal hooks… all on top of a pronounced house beat. A very active member of the local community, DJ Swanrock promotes and interviews local and international artists as a producer and host of The Funk Soul Brother Show on Sydney's 2RRR, where his love for music goes beyond the spectrum of mixing tunes. He has found plenty of ways to express himself musically, through live sets at The Vanguard, Cafe Del Mar Sydney, Soulstice Laneway Festival, Granny Smith Festival and a residency at Cheeky's, as well as starting his very own club night called “Street Level” at the Knox St. Bar in one of Sydney's coolest neighbourhood's. He also promotes his soulbursthouse series of funky house mixes through his mixcloud site. “For me, it's all about the mood, the journey, the vibe, and the the grooves that take you there, from that very first pulsating beat, to the final funky groove”.
