Maylands Waterland, located along the Derbarl Yerrigan (Swan River) in Maylands, is a revitalized community playground that reopened on 1 July 2022 after a $4.4 million redevelopment. The park features nature-inspired play spaces, including a giant motorbike frog water sculpture, an artist-created play spider, a timber tunnel with a climbing wall, and an accessible basket swing. Designed by Josh Byrne and Associates, the facility celebrates local native flora and fauna through custom play elements, interactive sculptures, and water features. The park also offers accessible toilets, changerooms, shade sails, barbecue and picnic facilities, and areas for mobile food vendors. Water play elements, such as a splash pad, water creek, and wading pool, became operational in October 2022, enhancing the park's appeal for families and visitors of all ages.
