Nestled along the upper Murray River in southern Kosciuszko National Park, Tom Groggin Campground offers a serene retreat with expansive open areas and picturesque mountain and riverside vistas. Accessible via the Alpine Way between Khancoban and Thredbo, this campground serves as an excellent base for activities such as fishing, bushwalking, mountain biking, and 4WD adventures. The area is rich in native wildlife, including eastern grey kangaroos, emus, echidnas, and various bird species. While the campground provides basic amenities like picnic tables, fire rings (firewood not supplied), and non-flush toilets, visitors should bring their own drinking water and be prepared to pack out all rubbish. Please note that a $6 booking fee applies, and park entry fees are required. The campground is open year-round, though access along the Khancoban to Cabramurra Road is closed during winter (June to October long weekends).
