Rye Park Wind Farm, located near Yass in New South Wales, is the state's largest operational wind farm, boasting a capacity of 396 megawatts. The facility comprises 66 Vestas V162-6.0MW turbines, each generating 6 megawatts. It produces approximately 1,188 GWh of clean energy annually, enough to power around 215,000 homes. Over half of its output is supplied to Newcrest Mining's Cadia gold mine under a long-term agreement, while the remaining energy is contracted to AGL Energy, contributing to a cleaner and more reliable energy supply across the grid.
