Peppimenarti Police Station

Peppimenarti Police Station serves the Peppimenarti community, a vibrant Aboriginal settlement established in 1972, located approximately 320 kilometers southwest of Darwin. The station operates as a temporary facility, staffed by two officers who travel from the base in Wadeye, leading to response times that can exceed an hour. This arrangement has been a subject of concern, as the station lacks the infrastructure to function as a permanent establishment. Despite these challenges, the station remains committed to serving the community, which has a population of around 200 residents.
