Wilpinjong Coal Mine of Peabody

Wilpinjong Mine, situated 50 km northeast of Mudgee in New South Wales, is a significant producer of high-quality thermal coal for both domestic and export markets. Operating since 2006, it employs approximately 575 people and utilizes open-cut mining methods to extract coal from the Ulan Seam. In 2024, the mine produced 12.6 million tons of coal, contributing about 25% of New South Wales' coal-generated power supply.
