Mitchell River Old Weir Wall

The Glenaladale Weir Site, located at the junction of Stony Creek and the Mitchell River in Victoria's Mitchell River National Park, offers a glimpse into the area's rich history. Constructed in 1881, the weir was intended to support irrigation but was damaged by floods later that year and never repaired. Today, its stone remnants stand as a testament to the past. Visitors can access the site via Old Weir Track, a 300-meter return walk from an informal car park where Old Weir Track crosses a tributary of Stony Creek. The trail features another culturally significant site, Deadcock Den, and the Bluff Lookout with views of the Mitchell River Gorge.
