Martumili Artists, located within the East Pilbara Arts Centre in Newman, Western Australia, showcases the rich cultural heritage of the Martu people. Established in 2006, this Indigenous-owned art enterprise represents artists from seven Martu communities, including Parnpajinya (Newman), Jigalong, Parnngurr, Punmu, Kunawarritji, Irrungadji, and Warralong. The artists are the traditional custodians of vast stretches of the Great Sandy, Little Sandy, and Gibson Deserts, as well as the Karlamilyi (Rudall River) area. Their artworks, ranging from paintings to sculptures, reflect the dramatic geography and scale of their homelands. Visitors can explore and purchase ethically sourced Aboriginal art and gift items at the gallery, open Monday to Friday from 10 AM to 4 PM, and Saturday from 10 AM to 2 PM.
