
Yarrabah Aboriginal Shire, located on Cape Grafton in Far North Queensland, is the traditional land of the Gunggandji and Yidinji peoples. Established in 1987, it encompasses approximately 159.4 km² and is home to around 2,559 residents. The community thrives with a rich cultural heritage, highlighted by the Yarrabah Arts and Cultural Precinct, which includes the Menmuny Museum and the Yarrabah Arts Centre. The area offers a tropical climate, with hot, wet summers and cool, dry winters, and is accessible by road from Cairns.
