Established in February 1999, the Yarra Ranges Film Society promotes cinema as an art form in the Yarra Ranges area through regular screenings of quality films in local venues, as well as holding special events such as film festivals. Screenings are held at the Arts Centre Warburton and the Memorial Hall (Memo) in Healesville, both equipped with state-of-the-art digital projection systems. Membership is open to all film enthusiasts, with annual fees of $80 for full members, $70 for concessions, and $35 for youth under 25. Members enjoy discounts on tickets to movies provided directly by the Yarra Ranges Council at these venues. The society also organizes the Warburton Film Festival each June and a Short Film Competition for young filmmakers.
