Venue

Yanga, NSW

Yanga Homestead, established around 1870, stands as a testament to the Riverina's pastoral heritage within Yanga National Park. The homestead's unique Murray pine 'drop log' design is complemented by restored rose gardens, maintained by volunteers. Visitors can explore the Cook's Cottage exhibition and wander the grounds at their leisure. To access the interior, self-guided tour packages, including an audio guide and key, are available at the Balranald Discovery Centre or Balranald Caravan Park. The surrounding Yanga Lake walking track offers scenic views and insights into the area's Aboriginal heritage and birdlife. The homestead is open daily from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm. Please note, water is not available on-site, so it's advisable to bring your own.
