Yamanie walkers' camp

Yamanie Walkers' Camp, nestled in open woodland near the Herbert River, serves as a pick-up point for hikers on the Wet Tropics Great Walk. Accessible only by 4WD vehicles or on foot, this campsite offers a single open area suitable for tent camping beside your vehicle or as a walk-in site. The grassy surface provides a comfortable setting, though facilities are not available, so visitors should bring essentials like drinking water, insect repellent, and rubbish bags. Open fires and generators are prohibited to preserve the natural environment. Please be aware of estuarine crocodiles in the area and exercise caution near water. Camping permits are required and can be booked online.
