Yagoonya

Yagoonya is a coastal locality in Queensland's Shire of Carpentaria, situated on the west coast of the Cape York Peninsula along the Gulf of Carpentaria. The area encompasses approximately 11,016.7 square kilometers, with a population of 20 residents as of the 2016 census. The central and southern regions are primarily used for grazing on native vegetation. The Burke Developmental Road traverses the locality from north to south, providing access to neighboring areas. Notably, Yagoonya is home to Gulf Coast Agricultural Co, a pastoral enterprise managing over 100,000 head of pure Brahman cattle across 2,700,000 acres.
