Yacaaba Headland walking track is a challenging 7km return hike in Myall Lakes National Park, offering stunning views over Port Stephens. Starting from Bennetts Beach, the trail ascends steeply through a forest of smooth-barked angophoras, banksias, and grass trees. As you progress, enjoy panoramic coastal vistas, with the Barrington Tops ridgeline visible on clear days. The path becomes rockier and steeper, leading to ridge-top views of Seal Rocks and Tomaree Headland. Cabbage Tree Island, known as John Gould Nature Reserve, protects the rare Gould’s petrel breeding colony. Please note, the track is currently open only to a viewing point; beyond this, it's closed for safety due to track construction and environmental assessments.
