Located approximately 10 kilometers east of Esperance, the Wylie Bay Waste Facility offers comprehensive waste management services, including a landfill site, Materials Recovery Facility (MRF), and community drop-off areas for recyclable materials. The dedicated recycling team hand-sorts and bales materials for transport to Perth or other Western Australian locations. Residents receive four waste vouchers annually to dispose of excess general waste, with additional vouchers available upon request. Operating hours are Monday to Friday from 8 am to 4 pm, and weekends from 10 am to 3 pm during summer (September–April) and 11 am to 3 pm during winter (May–August). The facility is closed on Good Friday, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and during adverse weather conditions. Accepted recyclable materials include cardboard, paper, glass, plastics, household batteries, e-waste, oil, printer cartridges, steel, green waste, and clean fill. Certain items, such as large stumps, concrete slabs, and steel tanks, may incur additional charges. To ensure safety and prevent littering, all loads must be securely covered when visiting the facility. For large volumes of commercial or construction and demolition waste, prior approval from the Shire is required.
