Wuruma Dam, completed in 1968, is a significant water reservoir located on the Nogo River in Queensland's North Burnett Region. With a capacity of 165,400 megalitres, it serves as a vital water source for irrigation and town supplies. The dam has become a popular destination for fishing, boating, and camping, offering activities such as fishing for Australian Bass, Barramundi, Golden Perch, Silver Cod, Silver Perch, and Saratoga. Camping is permitted in designated areas, with 40 marked sites available on a first-come, first-served basis. Visitors can enjoy facilities like picnic tables, a toilet block, and a scenic lookout. Open fires are prohibited, and generators must be low decibel and operated during daylight hours only. Pets are allowed but must be kept on a leash. The area is managed by Sunwater, which provides information on current water levels, safety alerts, and recreational guidelines.
