
Wura is a rural locality in Queensland's Rockhampton Region, situated approximately 56.6 kilometers south-southwest of Rockhampton. The area encompasses 25.2 square kilometers and is bordered to the east, southeast, and south by the Dee River. Historically, Wura was served by the Wura railway station, which opened on 16 October 1912 and closed on 1 August 1987. The name "Wura" is believed to be an Aboriginal word meaning "kangaroo." As of the most recent census, Wura has a very low population, with no people or a very low population recorded.
